Was scammed out of a $115 dollar commission by @deaddays217 on Twitter.

Shorter Version

I do not usually ask for payment up front; I tend to only ask for payment after the drawing is done, however I don't send them any files until after I've been payed. It is quite bizarre, they didn't receive anything, no files, just a really bad compressed screenshot, I suppose that was more than suffice for them, that or they just wanted to waste my time.

The best way to going about getting payed is definitely to ask for payment upfront; personally it makes me uncomfortable to ask for payment without delivering anything, I don't like getting payed after only giving them my word, it makes me feel gross. I'm also just slow and not that great at what I do, so they tend to take a while, and I'd hate to hold on to someone's money longer than I need to.

@deaddays217 is a scammer, they gave me a fake email to send an invoice to, and has done the same to a few others. His actions are redeemable, but he is not only to blame, as my lack of caution is also a factor; after just over 40 commissions I forgot about the risk factors of payment, I've grown complacent.

I don't feel particularly angry I suppose can't be bothered to, just numb.

I just closed commissions too, and while I don't really want to, I suppose I'll be opening them back up soon

Some very kind anonymous soul came through and just payed it all in full, for some reason.

Forever grateful to the Anonymous Fellow who made the generous donation

I wish I knew who they where so I could thank them properly

I've already brought it up on my Twitter but I felt I should also mention it here too

My tablet is coming very close to the end of it's life span, too often does it malfunction and makes drawing significantly for difficult or impossible, and the problem seem to be getting progressively worse, it is becoming very difficult to make anything, I'm hoping to replace it as soon as possible.

If you'd like then donations to my Kofi would be greatly appreciated, though don't worry if you've nothing to spear, I'm very appreciative of those that took the time to read even this far.

Though it is rough I am still able to draw somewhat, so I am keeping commissions open for the time being, anything I make from that is going towards a new tablet
